Good Scout Award Luncheon Update

The annual Good Scout Award Luncheon is an important fundraising event for the Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America. What is more important is the health and safety of our donors and volunteers.

Because of that, we are cancelling the 2020 Good Scout Award Luncheon. In its place will be a series of short videos featuring our Stay-at-Home for Scouting Giving Campaign that will air Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2, 2020.

I want to personally thank you for your pledged donation to support local Scouts and families. Your support of the Dan Beard Council is critical to our continuing – and new – efforts to make a difference in the lives of our youth members, their families and our community. Your gift supports the best youth leadership and character development program that exists – Scouting.

Many companies and individuals have already stepped up to continue their support. I’m hoping that you will join with those donors in allowing the Dan Beard Council to preserve your pledge commitment. Your gift will be used in the same way – ensuring Scouting is here for our community.

As mentioned above, you’ll also be receiving a few video communications from our virtual Stay-At-Home for Scouting Giving Campaign intended to help us reach individuals who have traditionally donated at the event. These will feature some of the impactful ways Scouting makes a difference in our community such as new virtual programs, 76 outreach programs run locally, and over 160,000 hours of community service each year. Please consider sharing these with those people who would have joined you at the luncheon. To see more impactful moments that your gift helps to make happen, see our virtual impact report by clicking here.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding in this difficult time. One of our event volunteers will be reaching out to you in the coming days to share additional details.

Sincerely,

Andrew Zahn
