COMMUNITY SERVICE | Making An Impact In Our Community
On Average, Scouts Complete Over
Hours of Community Service Each Year
This past year was one to remember as our community continued to navigate a global pandemic. Because of the persistence and passionate commitment from our Scouts, volunteers, Scouting families and supporters, Dan Beard Council found stability and success. Youth from every community and neighborhood of our Council are experiencing the “Scouting Difference”: life-changing adventures, learning leadership and life skills and building friendships.
On average, Scouts complete over 164,000 service hours on a yearly basis, with 255 Scouts achieving the Eagle Scout rank in 2022! The focus of service projects this past year centered around supporting basic needs in our communities. In 2022, 34,866 hours of community service were completed in our communities for Eagle Scout projects.
Scouting helps youth move from their best “right now” self to their best future self by building things, making friends, working together, setting goals and achieving them. These life-changing experiences–and the confidence they provide–form a foundation that lets them embrace the opportunity and overcome obstacles.
