DISTRICT ROUNDTABLE
Trailblazer District Roundtable happens on the second Wednesday of every month and starts at 7:00 PM. It is located at the First Church of Christ which is located at 6080 Camp Ernst Road, Burlington, KY 41005.
Roundtable is a monthly program offered by each District that gives leaders hands-on experience and provides a forum for leaders to offer and receive help from their fellow Scouters. There are separate sessions for Boy Scout leaders and Cub Scouts leaders; many Roundtables begin with a joint session to hear announcements and upcoming event schedules that apply to all leaders. The Boy Scout Roundtable session explores a particular activity or area of interest, while the Cub Scout Roundtable provides information about the upcoming month’s planned program theme. In both sessions leaders are encouraged to share their questions. Helping our Scouting leaders is the sole purpose of Roundtable. Click here for more details on Roundtables.
Michael Branscum is the District Executive for Northern Kentucky District in the Dan Beard Council. He is excited to be working with the Boy Scouts of America and is excited to be able to personally meet every adult volunteer in the district.
Michael grew up north of the river in Cincinnati, OH and have lived there (more or less) his entire life. After my graduation from La Salle High School, Michael chose to attend the University of Kentucky and to pursue a Forestry Degree. He chose Forestry because of his strong Scouting background, and chose UK because of the accredited Forestry program they offered and their extra-curricular activities were second to none.
Michael started as a Tiger Cub, back when that was the first step to Cub Scouts. When he was old enough, Michael crossed over into Troop 850, and then went on to become the youngest Scout to achieve the rank of Eagle in his troop. Even after he made Eagle, when most kids in his troop would leave, Michael stuck around to continue to earn merit badges and help the younger generations of Scouts. After Michael aged out at age 18, he registered as an Adult Leader and have since become a Committee Member, who is still active to this day. Michael is currently the Eagle Scout Coordinator in his Troop and is able to continue growing Scouting as a volunteer.
He looks forward to a great year of Scouting in Northern Kentucky.
